About
I was raised and have lived in the South Bay Area for the majority of my life. Being exposed to the entrepreneurial ways of The Valley and thanks to a father who encouraged me to go it alone and a mother whom was willing to help provide some seed financing, I have never held a “real” job in my life. I founded MerchantOS (Then known as BikeSoft) at about the same time I graduated from San Jose State University studying management information systems. Justin Laing didn’t take too long to hop on board with me to become an equal partner and a great friend.

I was fortunate enough to marry Erica in August of 2004. Erica and I have had many adventures together including a cross country road trip and, more recently, a short drive up to Deadhorse, Alaska. We are also blessed with some awesome friends around the bay area whom we love to chill out with.
Apart from business ambitions I love to get outside. Surfing, Hiking, Climbing, and the occasional bike ride keep the blood pumping fast. I have fallen in love with climbing Yosemite Valley and just being anywhere in the Sierra Nevadas during summer. Winter is now more of a working season except for training for the next summer’s climbing at the local gym and getting in some great surf sessions in Santa Cruz.
In the future I would like to see a lot more of the world, try to do some charity work for people in less fortunate regions of the world, have a kid or two, and maybe start another company (or a few more). I’d also like to purchase a home somewhere in San Jose or Santa Cruz one day.
